Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench—190 miles from Guam in the South Pacific—is the deepest, most inhospitable place on the earth.
Colette, cameraman Jeff Streich and sound recordist Spence Palermo joined a team from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Hawaii as they launched a revolutionary new vehicle named Nereus to survive and explore the depths.
Colette produced and wrote this one-hour film about breakthrough technology, scientific exploration and the people who finally explore the deepest place on earth.
